Meet the Founder
More Than Scrubs. A Story of Resilience.
Hi, I’m Jahnelle Trench, founder of LeisureVybz Scrubs Boutique.
I was born and partially raised in Jamaica before immigrating to Canada at the age of 14.
Growing up, I always dreamed of becoming a midwife. I wanted a career where I could care for others and make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
Life, however, had different plans.
Despite every obstacle, I refused to let my circumstances define my future.
I enrolled in nursing school and eventually became a Practical Nurse, spending three and a half years working in home care, with much of my time dedicated to palliative nursing. Those years taught me compassion, resilience, and the privilege of caring for people during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.
Healthcare became more than just a job—it became part of who I am.
But every shift reminded me of something else.
Why LeisureVybz Exists
I’ve always loved fashion.
Even while wearing scrubs every day, I never wanted to lose my personality. I didn’t believe healthcare professionals should have to choose between looking professional and feeling confident.
Most scrubs were either comfortable but plain—or stylish but uncomfortable.
I kept asking myself:
Why can’t healthcare professionals have both?
When I became a mother to my twins, that question turned into a dream.
That’s when LeisureVybz Scrubs Boutique was born.
Why Comfort Matters
Healthcare professionals spend 8, 10, sometimes even 16-hour shifts caring for everyone else.
We lift patients.
We run from room to room.
We skip breaks.
We sacrifice sleep.
We comfort strangers on their hardest days.
